What Is The PTFA?

‘Hello’ from the Parents, Teachers & Friends Association (PTFA). We are an active group of parents from every school year committed to bringing a real community spirit to the school.

As you would expect, our main aim is to raise funds for our school. We do this by hosting a variety of fun family events throughout the year such as Quiz Evenings, a Murder Mystery night, a Comedy night, discos for the Year 7 & 8 students and the occasional ‘ball’.

The PTFA contributes greatly to help our school in many ways. We provide funds for special projects and building works – in the past this has included the Sports Hall, playground facilities, a new school Minibus and a Long Jump Pit – along with assisting with educational tools to improve learning. In 2015 we introduced Familiarisation Tests (or ‘mocks’) for students hoping to join the school in advance of their Entrance Exams at the 11+ stage, which is a valuable tool for the candidates. In addition, we help our wonderful teaching staff with various events, such as serving refreshments at school functions and parents’ evenings.

If you could spare some time, please send us an email at info@wcgsptfa.com. Many of our parents offer just a few hours of their time per year and this makes all the difference in our efforts to help the students.

The PTFA aims to bring together parents, staff and students in an enjoyable way that will help our children to achieve their best. We really do hope that you will join us to build on our success and we look forward to welcoming many of you to our social events during the year.

We usually hold our PTFA meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm in the school library.

We’d love to see you there!
